Upcoming Grand Rapids Drive Details

The tickets are purchased and we are getting close...here are the details in case you were wondering.

Sunday, February 11 we will meeting in the church Multi-purpose Room at 11am for lunch.

If you are not eating lunch with us that is fine.   However, we plan to leave the church at noon for the game.  You will go in a car/van and come back in that same vehicle.  Please don't switch vehicles. We want to be sure we account for everyone getting home ;)

Once in a vehicle the driver will give each student a ticket.  You will hold that and use it to get in the doors so DON'T lose it there is no other way to get in.

PARENTS:  We are estimating we would be back to church  by 4:30/5pm.  It may be best if we have the kids call or text you when we depart from the game so you know when to pick up.

At Your Table: week 1

We talked in great detail about ATTITUDE this week.  About how our feelings inside can and do sneak out, in sometimes not a nice way. We looked at several verses that can help us keep things in "check".
"watch the way you talk. Let noting foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps."  Ephesians 4:29

"give thanks in all circumstances." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 3:14

Here are a few pictures from a game the kids enjoyed, getting ping pong balls in the containers was tough, but they kept working at it. Just like having a positive attitude can be tough as well, but the more we try the better we get.

Great video on positive thinking.

And we liked to end with some happy fun thoughts as well.

Purpose: Final Week

We discussed the Purpose and truly living out your purpose. Knowing Ephesians 1:11 should be a relief to each of us.  We should not fret or worry, leaving it all in His hands.

Ephesians 1:11New Living Translation (NLT)

11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God,[a] for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
Another verse that can help guide us each day:

Jeremiah 29:11New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Finally a video that challenges us to stand up for Christ in all we do, live not for TODAY but for our everlasting life in Heaven.  Check this great testimony out...*

*as with any video I am sharing for this video and its specific message. (I don't support/know that all of his teachings are consistent with JRC or the RCA)

Christmas Party Fun

December 17 we enjoyed a fun night of games and food with the high school group. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had.
